Dentistry has seen a tremendous change in the past few years.

With the introduction of computer-based dentistry, every facet of the dental practice is being raised to newer and better standards. Keeping up with the newest technology is exciting for us, and allows us to treat dental cases with extreme precision, detect dental concerns at early stages, and provide stunning and customized restorations. When you visit our office you can be confident that you are receiving the finest and most advanced dental care. Below is a listing of our most frequently used technology:

Digital Radiography (x-rays)

Computerized digital radiography is advanced technology that allows us to take x-rays with a sensor using 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays. The digital images are then transferred to an office database where they are stored in the patient’s computer file. We are able to enlarge the images for better viewing, analysis, and diagnosis.

Visual Magnification

Dr. Christensen and her hygienists wear high-resolution magnifying loupes that allow them to see every tooth nearly 5 times larger than normal to ensure a flawless procedure.

Intra-Oral Cameras

These very small cameras allow us to take pictures of inside your mouth. By enlarging them onto our overhead viewing monitors, we can show your areas of concern. This enables us to help you make informed choices about your dental health.

Diagnodent

The Diagnodent is a fast and painless early cavity detection aid. In order to maintain healthy and attractive teeth, giving the earliest possible care is essential. With the Diagnodent laser scanner, even very small lesions are detected at the earliest stage, enabling us to protect and preserve more of the tooth structure.

CEREC Crowns

We offer CEREC crowns and inlays, as well as the traditional lab, generated crowns, bridges, and inlays. With a CEREC restoration, you can have a permanent, all ceramic restoration in a single visit. We make use of an impressive technology known as CEREC to allow you to have a permanent, all ceramic restoration completed in a single visit!

This means less time out of your busy schedule and no temporary crown to deal with. The materials used in a CEREC restoration are closely matched to the composition of a natural tooth – this allows us to save as much healthy tooth structure as possible.

Other “tools” of the teeth trade

Nitrous Oxide: Also called “laughing gas” is a gas that helps calm patients.

iTero: We can create a 3D image of your teeth in just minutes using an iTero scanner.

CBCT: We use this type of special x-ray equipment when regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. We use this technology to produce three dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan.

Teeth Whitening: We also offer In office bleaching.
